Effect of thermomechanical processing on the dynamic ferrite transformation products
This work presents different aspects of dynamic ferrite transformation, and examples of its applications in the manufacturing processes of the ultrafine grained steels. Possibilities of application of the Spontaneous Reverse Transformation in the production process of the base material for further advanced thermomechanical processing are also considered. Based on the presented results, the effect of thermomechanical processing on the dynamic ferrite transformation in Microalloyed and IF steels can bedefined. It is concluded that austenite grain refinement and strain-induced precipitates significantly accelerate the dynamic transformation process. Nucleation sites for the transformation as a result of different austenite morphology are identified. Multiscale analysis of the phenomena that support dynamic transformations allowed for identification of phase transformation stages and its kinetics. The changes in ferrite refinement in the investigated steels were explained from the point of view of the austenite morphology and processing parameters. Finally, the possibilities of prodicing investigated microstructures in the rolling process were discussed. Extensive analysis of the mechanical response of manufactured materials was performed with special focus on the deformation in ultrafine grained materials.
