W oparciu o otrzymane wyniki doświadczalne i przeprowadzone symulacje stwierdzono, że zaproponowane modele fizyczne i hipotezy dotyczące rekrystalizacji i rozrostu ziaren w badanych metalach heksagonalnych wiernie oddają rzeczywiste procesy.
Nowadays, hexagonal metals are gaining much scientific and industrial attention due to exceptional properties. Moreover, the satisfactory theory of the physical mechanisms taking place during recrystallization and grain growth is still far from being achieved for these metals, as it has been less investigated problem so far.
Therefore, this thesis aims to make use of the research opportunities provided by experimental and modeling techniques in order to characterize mechanisms of recrystallization and grain growth phenomena occurring in hexagonal metals, in particular titanium and zirconium were considered.
For that reason, several experiments were prepared. Titanium was cold rolled to three different decrees of thickness reduction and extensively heat- treated in order to achieve several stages of recrystallization and grain growth, whereas zirconium was channel die compressed and briefly annealed for partial recrystallization. Experimental measurements were carried out using EBSD (Electron Backscatter Diffraction) and X-ray diffraction.
Simultaneously, special software was developed from scratch. It consists of Monte Carlo Potts model supported by additional GUI applications.
Based on the obtained experimental data and simulation results, physical models and hypotheses concerning the investigated recrystallization and grain growth processes were proposed and positively verified.
