In 2/2013 issue of Biological and Environmental Ed-ucation, we published a review of the first Polish issue of Campbell Biology. Almost 3 years later, we are pleased to hear that Dom Wydawniczy REBIS, the publisher of Polish version of Campbell Biology, decided to publish the second Polish Edition, based on the newest English publication, of the world-class textbook of modern biol-ogy. We think that review of the book originally pub-lished in English, then translated to Polish, in English issue of the quarterly is not necessary. Therefore, we would like to acknowledge and fully support the brave decision of the publisher who decided to introduce this valuable textbook to the Polish market.
What should be mentioned here is the fact that Pol-ish book market, especially scientific and educational one, is far smaller than the US or UK market. The price of Polish version of Campbell Biology cannot be con-sidered as affordable, but taking the huge translational and editorial work into account, one should not be sur-prised by the price. Importantly, by paying the price, Polish student or teacher may introduce the newest and renowned biology textbook to his or her bookshelf. We think that the purchase of the book should be consid-ered by everyone who is engaged professionally in biol-ogy (e.g. school teachers teaching this subject), but also by those, who are just beginning the exploration of this fascinating branch of science.
