Dysertacja doktorska dotyczy detekcji stanów przedawaryjnych turbin wiatrowych. Zaproponowany w pracy nowatorski inteligentny system hybrydowy przetwarza strumień wielowymiarowych danych opisujących działanie poszczególnych komponentów turbiny wiatrowej i jej środowiska. Każdy wejściowy wielowymiarowy punkt danych kierowany jest do podsystemu VBMoG (Variational Bayssian Mixture of Gaussians), który wykorzystywany jest w początkowej fazie działania systemu do detekcji szczególnych punktów danych. Używany jest tu algorytm VBEM (Variational Bayssian Expectation-Maximization). Następnie dane przekazywane są do modułów MoG (Mixture of Gaussians), które pełniąc funkcję klasyfikatora OCC (One Class Classifier) mają na celu zapamiętywanie stabilnych stanów pracy maszyny. Moduły MoG sprawdzają każdorazowo czy wejściowy punkt danych pasuje do jednego z wcześniej wyznaczonych obszarów. Jeśli tak, wówczas system przechodzi do następnego punktu danych. W przeciwnym przypadku punkt danych jest kierowany poprzez moduł realizujący dodatkowy preprocesing danych (projekcja stereograficzna) do sieci neuronowej ART-2 (Adaptive Resonance Theory). Wykonano weryfikację jego działania przy użyciu posiadanych danych z monitoringu turbiny wiatrowej. Pokazano, że system może być traktowany jako samodzielny system monitorujący turbinę, działający jako system wczesnego ostrzegania.
Hybrid neural system for intelligent monitoring of wind turbine
The doctoral dissertation refers to a problem of detection of pre-faults states of wind turbines. The proposed innovative intelligent hybrid system processes a stream of multi-dimensional data, describing an activity of wind turbine components and environment. After loading, each multi-dimensional point is directed to the VBMoG (Variational Bayssian Mixture of Gaussians) subsystem which is used in an initial phase of the system for detecting specific data points. The Variational Expectation-Maximization Bayssian (VBEM) algorithm is being used here. The data is then transmitted to the MoG (Mixture of Gaussians) modules that as a OCC (One Class Classifier) are aimed to remember some stable operating states of the machine. The modules check whether each data point matches one of the pre- designated areas. If so, then the system takes a next data point. Otherwise, the data point is directed through a preprocessing module to the ART-2 (Adaptive Resonance Theory) neural network.
A verification of its operation has been done using data from the wind turbine monitoring. It has been shown that the system can be regarded as a independent wind turbine monitoring system, acting as an early warning tool.
