Probabilistyczne gramatyki grafowe w rozpoznawaniu i statycznej analizie podpisów odręcznych
Zaproponowany model analizy i reprezentacji sygnatur odręcznych opisany został w kategoriach lingwistycznych z wykorzystaniem nowych hierarchicznych języków gra-fowych opartych na atrybutowanych grafach IE i gramatykach klasy ETPL(k).
Stochastic graph grammars in recognition and static analysis of handwritten signatures
One of the important subject associated with personal authentication capabilities is the analysis of handwritten signatures. This thesis presents the novel approach based on the usage of syntactic methods of pattern recognition for the static analysis of handwritten signatures. The applied graph linguistic formalisms in the formof IE graphs and ETPL(k) grammars, are characterised by considerable descriptive strength and have a polynomial complexity of syntactic analysis. For the purposes of representing the analysed handwritten signatures, new hierarchical (two-layer) HIE graph structures based on attributed IE graphs have been defined. The two-layer graph description makes it possible to take into consideration both local and global features of the signature. The usage of attributed graphs enables the storage of additional semantic information describing the properties of individual signature strokes. The verification and recognition of a signature consists in analysing the affiliation of its graph descrip-tion to the language describing the specimen database. To cope with signatures variability random HrlE graphs and stochastic class of ETPL(k) grammars are used. The specimen database is constructed over a number of stages on the basis of finite set of positive language examples - a set of genuine handwritten signatures of a given person. The appropriate automatic grammar inference mechanism is also presented in this thesis. Thanks to the application of syntactic formalisms based on ETPL(k) grammars, the parsing process itself is effective as regards calculations (polynomial membership problem). Also, an assessment of the precision of the method has been done and proved the high efficiency of proposed techniques.
