The second volume of the quarterly scientific journal Education – Technical

Education – Information Technology 2017 consists of six subject chapters.

The first chapter, entitled The Issues of Formal and Non-Formal Education, is composed of research papers on the key issues and challenges that schools of all types will have to face in order to adapt to the needs of modern world. Au-thors have proved that the change of methods of teaching is required as well as the development of modern forms of training with a significant use of non-formal education i.e., based on the online technologies (ICT).

The second chapter, The Issues of Technical Education, consists of a series of research papers on the necessity to understand the key phenomena that tech-nology generates including the references to the basic issues of philosophy and ethics. Putting greater emphasis on the utilitarian aspects of technology in fact only highlights the servitude relating to the good of man – in reality it contrib-utes to the dehumanization of man. Therefore it is wise to introduce two para-digms in the technical education: the primacy of a man over technology and the primacy of a man over a thing.

The third chapter, The Issues of Vocational Education, presents a series of research papers on the problems of education and vocational training as under-stood in multidimensional terms. One of the articles emphasizes the need to re-search the activity rate among people with disabilities as a key issue in their rehabilitation .

The fourth chapter, The Issues of Teachers’ Education and Further Training

points out a broad spectrum of issues regarding the importance of preparation and further education of school employees. The first article presents the notion of authority, on the one hand well-known and assigned to teachers, on the other hand not adequately researched in the context of socio-political changes. In one of the articles, the author draws the attention to the suicidological issues that teachers should be aware of and apply.

The fifth chapter, The Issues of Media Education, is composed of several

re-search papers. The first article deals with the problem of communication

be-tween academic teachers and students. This research attempted to identify fac-tors that distort and prevent effective communication. The subsequent articles present e.g., the study of problems encountered in launching the electronic sys-tem of school management; the samples of the virtualization of the organization

of education; the authors of one articles prove that the virtual 3D worlds are not a thing of the past, at least not in the education sector, various aspects of Second Life can be useful in education applications as well as culture and cognitive ones.

The last chapter, entitled The Issues of IT Education, draws on such issues as

the difficulties in designing new software solutions for the display of car naviga-tion and the ways to make the thread safe in Java. One of the articles focuses on the interdisciplinary study which provides the explanation of psychological basis of recording and rejecting information of a man in the cyber research.

Thus, we encourage our readers to contribute their critical texts in response to the subjects covered in this volume.
