Let us invite you to read the 16th volume of Folia Toruniensia. Academic
texts appearing in our journal, which is published by the Voivodeship Public Library – Copernicus Library in Toruń, receive the score of 6 scientific points. So far the journal has addressed the issues connected with Library Sciences, concerning various topics associated with book history, printing, Toruń’s libraries and booksell-ing in Toruń and the region from the Middle Ages to the present times.
The 16th volume of Folia Toruniensia is the first volume to go beyond the
boundaries of Toruń and the region. The first of the articles presented to the read-ers takes us on the voyage to Lublin. The second text describes the innovative project JBiblioteka which covers the whole country. Subsequent texts include re-viewed publications concerning the Jagiellonian Library in Cracow, the University Library in Warsaw and the city books of the Main City of Gdańsk.
Apart from the above-mentioned texts, the most recent volume includes also materials connected with the territory of Kuyavia and Pomerania. The read-ers may read about the edition of the Protocols of the General Dietine of Royal Prussia, the legislation of the Toruń Academic Gymnasium of 1568, books printed with a bigger font to be found in the Copernicus Library, and the option “Suggest a purchase” in the University Library in Toruń. The readers may get acquainted with the most recent trends in preparing bibliography in Poland and in the region, which is an essential task of our Library. At the end of the volume the reader may find the review of the autobiographical book by Zefiryn Jędrzyński, the editor of the dailies Nowości and Gazeta Pomorska.
Despite the fact that the journal reaches beyond the boundaries of Toruń and the region, it continues to include texts relating to Library Sciences. The edi-torial team aims at increasing the scope of recipients of Folia Toruniensia among scientists and librarians, which will certainly foster the development of the journal, bibliology and information processing.
The editorial team of Folia Toruniensia invites potential authors and readers to participate actively in the process of creating our journal.
