In order to „open us f u l l e r and better to Europe", we are s t a r t i n g w i t h a new review F O R U M P H I L O S O P H I C U M .
F O R U M w i l l be published once a year i n E n g l i s h , F r e n c h , G e r m a n , I t a l i a n , S p a n i s h , L a t i n a n d P o l i s h . The articles i n P o l i s h w i l l be followed by extensive summaries i n foreign languages.
Since we do not renounce P o l i s h speaking readers, the articles m foreign languages are also followed by extensive s u m m a r i e s i n P o l i s h .
T h e review is the work of the J e s u i t F a c u l t y of Philosophy i n Cracov/ (Poland).
T h e J e s u i t F a c u l t y of P h i l o s o p h y i n Cracow c u r r e n t l y possesses two Sections (departments): the D e p a r t m e n t of Systematic Philosophy and the D e p a r t m e n t of Religious E d u c a t i o n , as w e l l as the Institute of Religious C u l t u r e .
The Department of Systematic Philosophy offers a basic three-year course as well as a specialisation i n a b r a n c h of philosophy.
The Department of Religious Education was founded i n 1990, It offers a two-year course i n philosophy, theology, psychology a n d sociology, followed by a three-year specialisation i n catechetics or i n education of childern and young people.
T h e F a c u l t y also incorporates the Institute of Religious Culture, founded i n 1989. It offers special studies (Saturday courses and private study) of a philosophical and theological n a t u r e l a s t i n g three or six years for l a y people and religious.
T h e F a c u l t y has, since 1932, the right of conferring degrees as a n i n s t i t u t e of higher education of the C h u r c h . O n the basis of a b i l l of p a r l i a m e n t f r o m 1989, the F a c u l t y obtained legal personality as well as concomitant rights, such as the r i g h t to admit l a y students and to confer t h e m degrees, recognised by c i v i l authority.

Since 1988, the F a c u l t y of P h i l o s o p h y has been p u b l i s h i n g its o w n „ R o c z n i k " [Yearbook]. It contains i n f o r m a t i o n on the activity of the F a c u l t y as w e l l as articles about philosophy.
U p to December, 1995, the D e p a r t m e n t of Religious E d u c a t i o n has p u b l i s h e d 26 issues of its q u a r t e r l y j o u r n a l „ H o r y z o n t y W i a r / ' [Ho-r i z o n s of F a i t h ] .
I n the academic year (1995/1996), the teaching s t a f f is as follows: f u l l professors: 17; others: 71, h a l f of t h e m are non-jesuits (many part-time).
F u l l - t i m e students - 445 (systematic philosophy: 50; religious education: 395); at the I n s t i t u t e of Religious C u l t u r e - 289 students; t o t a l n u m b e r of students - 734 (29 foreigners).
