An analysis of the ileotectonic movements. which appear in the area of Poland, particularly along the river valley and within mining territories, leads to the following conclusions:
:1 - an increase in horizontal streSlSe8, as com-pared with those being calculated, observed in rock massifs, is frequently related to a general tendency of these massifs to sink, and of their peripher.!1l parts to rise,
2 - in rock maSsifs showing the tendency to· rise,
. a distinct elastic recovery· and a relative decrease in horizontal stresses can be observed. At the s·ame time, various systems of zones of decreasing strength are produced in these massifs, the existing diaclases are more visible, and fractures of various kirid widen,
3 - both course and intensity of exogeodynamical processes are various in various neotectonic areas -in decompressed and fractured rock massifs (i.e. in those characterized" QY stable rising · movements). Under stable conditions weathering processes . are more intense, denudation is stronger, morphological processes are more active, as well as more intense are fissure water flows, horst development, a.o.
The Recent neotectonic movements are an im-portant factor that should be taken into accQunt mainly as one of the engineering-geological criteria, and as an element of tlme-spece engineering-geo-logical forecasts.
