Uzasadnia to celowość rozwijania badań prowadzących do doskonalenia narzędzi diagnostyki perfuzji mózgowej.
Pattern recognition techniques in semantic interpretation of selected lesions based on analysis of brain tissues blood perfusion visualization
Dynamic perfusion computed tomography treatment (pCT) is a modern and broadly used neuroradiology technique that enables to evaluate both total and regional blood flows in time unit. P-CT treatment enables recognition of structural changes of ischemia and shows the difference between ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke. Despite the common usage of this modality, the semantic interpretation of visualized symptoms is often difficult and it is not supported with contemporary computer software. Those factors justify to conduct the researches in the field of brain perfusion diagnostic tools.
In this dissertation the author presents a novel approach for analyzing of pCT visualization. With these methods it is possible to detect potential morphological and structural lesions visualized in pCT images. The algorithm performs classification of single and multiple pathological changes also performing semantic interpretation. The proposed methodology is based on advanced image processing and analysis techniques, as well as pattern classification approaches.
