1.1.Jim: Hi Alice, it’s Jim. You haven’t been at school today. Is everything okay?
Alice: Oh, hi Jim. Well, I felt so bad that I couldn’t get up and go to school.
Jim: Oh no! Is it your knee again? Or did you hit your finger for the second time?
Alice: No, the knee is fine. My finger still hurts a little but that’s not the problem. I have a runny nose and a sore throat. I think it might be flu.
1.2.Liz: Jack, we have to think about a present for Mike. His birthday party is on Saturday.
Jack: Yes, I know. Maybe a music CD or a film on DVD?
Liz: Hmmm.... a film is a very good idea – but it’s too expensive for me. I saw a great T-shirt at the mall yesterday and I think he’ll like it.
Jack: All right.
1.3.Girl: Excuse me, can you show me the way to Blue Star Hotel?
Man: Sure, no problem. Go straight and pass the bank. There is a hotel next to the bank, but it’s the Royal Inn and you have to turn right in the second street. Your hotel is near a small cafe.
1.4.Sam: Hi mom, you have to help me!
Mother: What’s wrong? Did you forget your homework again?
Sam: No, we’re going on a school trip today and we must have warm clothes. I didn’t take my jumper!
I’ve left it in your car this morning.
Mother: OK, don’t worry. I’m near your school so I’ll give it to you during your next break. Do you also want the photo camera? I have it with me.
Sam: Sure, it’ll be great!

2 Zadanie 2.
Danny: So Tricia, how was your school trip to London?
Tricia: Oh, it was fantastic! The coach left on Friday and we arrived very early the next day – just in time to see the famous English fog! It was really magical! We visited Buckingham Palace and the Tower of London. On Sunday we had some free time to walk around London. The weather was really good – not too hot and not too cold. And we had beautiful sun all day! On Monday our teacher showed us the Natural History Museum. We spent the whole day in the building and it was good because it was over 32 degrees outside and no clouds in the sky!
Danny: Wow, it sounds great! And what about your return trip?
Tricia: Oh, it was okay. The weather forecast presenter said that there would be heavy rain and fog but it didn’t rain. It was cloudy, of course, and there was some wind but not too strong. We had a nice time on the coach.
Zadanie 3.
Man: Good morning everybody! It’s our first lesson this year, so I would like you to open your notebooks and write down some rules for this year. Rule number one – there will be a test two times a month. If you fail the test you can come to me every Friday at 3 p.m. and write it again. Rule number two – I’ll give you homework for every lesson but I will check only three or four people at a time. And finally – rule number three – we have lessons late in the afternoon and I know that some of you are hungry so you can eat and drink during the lesson. Do you have any questions?
