Ocena zmiennOści parametrów geOtermicznych OśrOdka geOlOgicznegO na pOdstawie wyników badań
geOfizycznych

Recognizing the distribution of thermal field parameters inside a geological medium is based on the limited population of the irregularly distributed boreholes. The local differentia- tion of thermal field parameters such as temperature, geothermal gradient and thermal flow density depends on the alteration of geological medium thermal parameters, for example, the thermal capacity of rocks or the thermal conductivity factor. The geometrical interpolation of borehole data could thus generate uncontrolled errors in thermal field parameters estimation which are especially important for the geothermal borehole location. The separate issue is the recognition of values and the differentiation of the above mentioned parameters below the range drilling that are important to estimate the thermal conditions prevailing at depths in the Earth and hence for geodynamic studies. The above mentioned facts encouraged us to undertake the research on the possibility of application of standard geophysical data to estimate temperature distribution in the geological medium and assess the variability of its thermal properties that modify heat flow density and the geothermal gradient. The basic problem in this study is searching for empirical and theoretical dependences between the pe- trophysical parameters or the geophysical anomalies and thermal parameters of rocks. These relations are complex and multidimensional, thus causing a frequent lack of simple and obvious correlation dependences. Under those circumstances, the application of advanced statistical methods such as cluster analysis and neural network became necessary.
