During heavy lift operations of the Heerema SSCV "Hermod" the detachable derrick blocks of the tie-back system made rather large vertical movements. This study deals with the dynamic behaviour of the tie-back system: it attemps to find an explanation for the observed motions and gives some methods to reduce them.
One of these methods is worked out into a design in principal. Reports on Transport Engineering and Logistics (in Dutch)
