UNIVERSITATIS MARIAE C U R I E - S K L O D O W S K A LUBLIN —POLONIA
VOL, XL_______________ SECTIO A 1988
This volume contains Part I of the Proceedings of the 9th Conference on Analytic Functions held in Lublin, June 1-6, 1986.
The topics covered in Part I ares Geometric Function Thopry and
^uasiconformal mappings. Part XI of the Proceedings is uevoted to Functions of Several Complex Variables and to the Analysis on Complex Manifolds and will be published as a separate volume by Reidel Publ, Co..
This subdivision is explained by the fact that the xccturss at the Conference were delivered in two parallel sessions, eacn corresponding to the contents of the relevant part of The Proce
edings. Moreover, there were difficulties with publishing one big volume of rather inhomogeneous contents.
Apart from papers presented by the authors at the Conference there are also a few papers of authors who were not able to at
tend, but requested their papers to be included in the Proceedings During the Conference a special problem session was held and the problems presented are also included in these Proceedings.
The Conference wa3 sponsored and organised.by the institute of Mathematics of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Depart
ment of Mathematics of Maria Curie-SUlodowska University and was attended by 159 mathematicians (.111 from Poland) representing 18 countries. Unfortunately, due to the lack of reliable informa
tion on possible radioactive pollution after the nuclear disaster of April, 1986, many prospective participants cancelled theix-
H
attendance at cne Conference.
