M. Lamers The functional design of a mobile belt feeder

Engineering Assignment, Report 2005.TL.6951, Transport Engineering and Logistics.

This report contains the functional design of a belt feeder for transporting limestone. From a main lay-out, the capacity, the general shape, the forces in the belt and the required power are calculated. The parts of the belt feeder needed for a functional design have been designed or specified. These are:

belt drive system pulleys and idlers hopper system frame

auxiliary equipment

The structural calculation of the frame and basic mechanical calculations are provided. The report is ended with a risk analysis. Reports on Transport Engineering and Logistics (in Dutch)

Recommended is the flexible option because the antenna is still relatively large (making it stiff results in a large transponder) and this option will influence the belt the least.

Based on the results of the numerical analysis it could be concluded that the pipe is stable when the troughability (F/W belt ) is greater than 0.12 and smaller than 0.36 because,
