LIST KSIĘDZA PROBOSZCZA
Drodzy Parafianie i Przyjaciele Kosciola Spotkać Jezusa w czasie obecnej pandemi.
aby przechodzący mogli go ominąć a on sam całkowicie zchodził z drogi, aby zachować społeczny dystans.
Chorzy wyrzucani byli z wiosek i miast i umierali z dala od ludzi w samotności i bez opieki. Wtedy stało się coś zupełnie nowego. Oto przyszedł Jezus Chrystus.
Przywraca godność chorym na trąd i inne choroby, zauważa biednych i samotnych. Napotkane osoby doznają nawet uzdrowienia. My chrześcijanie dzisiaj musimy znaleźć i spotkać no nowo Chrystusa. Lekarze i ludzie medycyny niech uzdrawiają nasze ciała a Jezus Chrystus niech będzie lekarzem naszych serc i dusz. Potrzebujemy w całym świecie szczepionki na Covid- 19, ale cały świat potrzebuje też Chrystusa.
Ks. PiԪr Rozek, Wasz Pastor
LETTER FROM OUR PASTOR
Dear Parishioners and Friends
Meet Jesus during the current pandemic. Have you thought about what it would be like today to meet Jesus with the Apostles and the assembled people?
How would I prepare myself for this meeting with my Lord? The Apostles and people of that time did not fly by air and did not travel by train or car. Nevertheless, they had their problems. A leper walking on the road from a distance shouted the word "leper" so that passers-by could bypass him, and he himself completely left the road to keep social distance. The sick were thrown out of villages and cities and died away from people alone and unattended. Then something completely new happened.
Here comes Jesus Christ. He restores dignity to those suffering from leprosy and other diseases, notices the poor and the lonely. The people he meet are even healed. We, Christians today must find and meet Christ again. Doctors and medical people may heal our bodies but let Jesus Christ be the doctor of our hearts and souls. We need the Covid-19 vaccine all over the world, but the whole world needs Christ too.
Fr. PiԪr Rozek, Your Pastor

FEAST OF ST. BLAISE FEBRUARY 3, 2021
Things will be different this year due to the pandemic.
According to the guidelines from the Diocese of Rockville Centre, instead of touching each persons throat with the candle, Priest will give the blessing by extending his hands over the congregation, without the candle.
MASSES AT ST. HEDWIG’S CHURCH
7:00 AM (ENG)8:00 AM (POL)
Blaise lived so long ago that we know nothing about his early life. We do know that he was a both a doctor and a bishop in the area that is today either Armenia or Turkey.
In the beginning of the fourth century, Christians were being persecuted by the Romans. The Roman Emperor believed that arresting and punishing important leaders like Blaise would prevent other people from becoming followers of Christ. laise’s prison was a dark cave. One of the legends that is told about him is that wild animals came to the cave so that he could treat their wounds. It is said that a mother brought her young son to Blaise. The boy was choking on a fish bone. Blaise saved the boy’s life by saying a prayer and blessing him with candles crossed upon his throat.
Tradition tells us that the grateful mother visited Blaise’s in prison to bring him food and candles. During his time in prison, Blaise was sentenced to death. He was martyred in the year 316. St. Blaise is the patron saint of people with diseases of the throat. On St. Blaise’s feast day, many parishes bless the throats of their parishioners in a special ceremony. Two unlit candles are held next to each person’s throat as the priest or deacon says, “Through the intercession of Saint Blaise, bishop and martyr, may God deliver you from every disease of the throat and from every other illness: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
”St. Blaise reminds us of the importance of taking care of our health and also to thank God for doctors and medicines that can help us to recover from illnesses. We honor St. Blaise for his faith and care for his people.

PRESENTATION OF THE LORD FEBRUARY 2, 2021
MASSES AT ST. ST. HEDWIG’S CHURCH
7:00 AM (ENG)8:00 AM (POL) 5:00 PM (ENG 7:30 PM (POL)
The feast was first observed in the Eastern Church as
"The Encounter." In the sixth century, it began to be observed in the West: in Rome with a more penitential character and in Gaul (France) with solemn blessings and processions of candles, popularly known as "Candlemas."
The Presentation of the Lord concludes the celebration of the Nativity and with the offerings of the Virgin Mother and the prophecy of Simeon, the events now point toward Easter."In obedience to the Old Law, the Lord Jesus, the first-born, was presented in the Temple by his Blessed Mother and his foster father. This is another 'epiphany' celebration insofar as the Christ Child is revealed as the Messiah through the canticle and words of Simeon and the testimony of Anna the prophetess. Christ is the light of the nations, hence the blessing and procession of candles on this day. In the Middle Ages this feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary, or 'Candlemas,' was of great importance.
