Astma stanowi poważny problem zdrowotny na świecie. Według WHO obecnie na tę chorobę cierpi ok. 235 milionów ludzi.
Digital recognition of respiratory sounds in system of remote asthma patients monitoring.
Asthma is a serious health problem in the world. According to WHO currently suffer from this disease approximately 235 million people. Fortunately, constantly increasing technology allow to better control chronic diseases. The concept of digitally supported diagnosis is especially important in asthma disease because good controlled disorder can be almost unnoticeable. The lungs auscultation is a non invasive test in asthma diagnose. On the basis of such tests, the medical doctors can precise evaluate the stage of the disease. The main indicator of the asthma disease level is an appearance of wheezes in breath cycle. During the lung auscultation, medical doctors can evaluate the level of wheezes appearance. The main problem is that the evaluation is depended on the doctor's experience and is strongly subjective. The problem of frequency of such test is significant as well. The device that can evaluate such test without any supervision, could easily solve those issues. The aim of the work was to create an algorithm to wheezes detection which satisfy three main conditions. First one was to find a low computational complexity and low dimensional feature vector that describe disorder. The reason of such condition was because the developed algorithms were intended for use on mobile devices. The second idea was to create a universal set of features resistant to various types of background noise. This was to allow for an analysis of records sounds made different devices. The third goal was to increase the sensitivity of detection of weak tones. The algorithms should detect the disorder, the presence of which is difficult to detected by doctors.
