W pracy autor przedstawił nowy operator procesu cyfrowej generalizacji kartograficznej, którego celem jest harmonizacja operatorów generalizacji zapewniających jednoznaczność wyników. Operator zdefiniowany został w odniesieniu do Ogólnego Modelu Obiektów normy PNEN ISO 19109: 2009. Autor do procesu generalizacji wprowadza pojęcie triady niezmienniczej będącej jego ogólnym modelem. Po zbadaniu dla obiektów powierzchniowych o charakterystyce liniowej metod szkieletyzacji, jako niezmiennik procesu generalizacji autor wykorzystał Medial Axis Transform (MAT). Dla tych obiektów podaje rozwiązania, oparte o dekompozycję uwzględniającą ekstrema lokalne MAT, pozwalające na harmonizację operatorów redukcji wymiarowości, przewiększania oraz wzmacniania. Określił promień koła elementarnego standardem rozpoznawalności dla obiektów powierzchniowych kreślonych na mapie linią o dowolnej szerokości dla dowolnej skali generalizacji. Ponadto podaje propozycje rozwiązania konfliktów dotyczących geometrii obiektów powierzchniowych w procesie uogólnienia. Dla obiektów liniowych, zaproponował metodę wyznaczania punktów charakterystycznych, z uwzględnieniem normy rozpoznawalności linii rysunku T. Chrobaka, które stanowią ich niezmienniki w procesie. Przedstawione w pracy algorytmy przetestowano w kilku wariantach i skalach uogólnienia danych przestrzennych. Operator harmonizacji oraz zaprezentowane algorytmy są przydatne w bazach MRDB, zalecanych współcześnie w redakcji map topograficznych i tematycznych.

In the thesis the author presented a new operator of digital cartographic generalization process, whose objective is the harmonization of generalization operators that ensure the unambiguity of results. The operator was defined in reference to the General Feature Model of the PN-EN ISO 19109: 2009 norm. The author introduces the notion of ‘invariable triad’ to the generalization process. The triad constitutes the general model of the process. Having studied the skeletonization methods for the areal objects of linear character, the author used the Medial Axis Transform (MAT) as an invariable element of the generalization process. For those objects he proposed solutions based on the decomposition that considers the local MAT extrema, which allow the harmonization of collapse, exaggeration and enhancement operators. The author determined the radius of elementary disc as a recognizability standard for areal objects drawn on the map at any scale with a line of any width. Moreover, he proposes how to solve the conflicts arisen in objects’ geometry in the process of generalization. For linear objects the author suggests the use of method of determination of characteristics points (which are their invariable elements in the process), whereby referring to the drawing recognizablity norm by Chrobak. The algorithms presented in the thesis were tested for a few variants and generalization scales of spatial data. The harmonization operator and the presented algorithms are useful for MRDB, that are currently recommended to be used while preparing topographic and thematic maps.
