This excellent m a n u a l which appears now in its third edition does n o t differ much f r o m t h e second one. The a u t h o r s replaced o n l y one t e x t (No. 38) b y a more interesting one, and added t h r e e p r i v a t e letters (Nos. 74, 78 and 83) a n d a short m a t h e m a t i c a l pa-p y r u s . T h e v e r y valuable short i n t r o d u c t i o n pa-placed a t t h e head of each t e x t , remained as it was. I m a y a d d also t h a t the new lite-r a t u lite-r e on t h e subject was also completed. As t h e folite-rmelite-r edition t h e new one will be of great use for t h e j u r i s t s a n d philologists.
