Wymienione metody teoretyczne zostały zastosowane do badań właściwości termoelektrycznych następujących materiałów: stop z podwójnym Mg2(Si-Sn) i potrójnym Mg2(Si-Ge-Sn) nieporządkiem oraz stop Ti(Fe-Co-Ni)Sb o strukturze pół-HeusIera.
PhD thesis concerns the theoretical study of transport properties of complex semiconductor alloys based on ab initio calculations. Most of the attention devoted to theoretical studies of thermoelectric energy conversion processes and their quantitative description based on the calculation of transport coefficients such as electrical conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, thermal conductivity, and the so-called. Thermoelectric figure of merit ZT. The source of the quantitative analysis of transport processes and heat loads were the results of calculations of the electron band structure obtained by KKR-CPA method, as well as transport coefficients, expressed as a function of temperature and doping level obtained in the framework of the Boltzmann theory. The work furthermore includes a detailed description of the used, or implemented by the author algorithms and the results of numerical tests. These methods have been applied to the theoretical studies of the thermoelectric properties of the following alloys materials: Mg2(Si-Sn), Mg2(Si-Ge-Sn) and half-Heuslera Ti(Fe-Co-Ni)Sb. For compounds Mg2X (X = Si, Ge and Sn), calculations of the electronic structure furthermore made based on the relativistic Dirac equation, allowing to take into account the impact of spin-orbit interaction on the transport properties as a function of temperature and concentration of p and n-type dopants.
