"Optical methane detector in a wide concentration range."
The subject of the thesis is optical detection and analysis in a wide range of methane gas concentration changes. The author conducted a survey of existing optical solutions for methane analysis with the use of optoelectronic components, identify problems in the implementation of optoelectronic systems methane detection system, and proposed a solution to allow the measurement and analysis of the full range of changes in the concentration of methane. Investigations range from 1% to 100% methane content. The results were used in the development of prototype optoelectronic analysis system that uses methane concentration FPGA. Concentration measurements using methane(100% CH4) and nitrogen (100% N2) was performed in the range from 1% to 100% of the methane content in the mixture. Measurements in the range from 0 to 20% and from 80 to 100% CH4 content was performed with an accuracy of 0.01%. The study allowed to verify the thesis of the non-linearity in absorbance depending on the concentration of methane.
The measurements confirm the bet by the author of the thesis of the feasibility of the optoelectronic system for the study of methane concentration in the mixture in a full range of changes in its concentration using a single dedicated optopair.
