The PhD thesis contains an identification and designation o f intangible assets creating value, as well as their im portance w ith special reference to the m ining industry.
The m ain purpose o f the PhD Thesis was: to build a m odel based on the designated factors for m easurem ent, m anagem ent, and reporting o f intellectual capital for mining com panies.
A chievem ent o f the aim o f the thesis was carried out tw o studies experts, w hich were intended to identify the intangible assets affecting on m ining com panies value, as well as evaluate them for validity and decisiveness.
Furtherm ore, in order to determ ine the success factors o f business, the coal m ining sector has been rated by the sector attractiveness scoring m ethod.
O btained results allow ed to create a m odel o f m easurem ent, m anagem ent and reporting o f intellectual capital takes into account the specificities o f the coal m ining industry. Selected conclusions:
■ The proposed m odel allow s for m easurem ent, m onitoring, m anagem ent and reporting intellectual capital o f m ining com panies.
■ The m easurem ent o f intellectual capital m ay and should be a com plem ent the mining com pany valuation, and especially in the planned privatization o f the coal mining industry.
■ A pplication o f proposed m odel greatly helps building value m anagem ent strategies o f mining com panies.
■ On the base o f obtained from the m odel profile o f intellectual capital can be ąuickly and easily find those intangible factors that are used by organizations in an optim al m anner, as w ell as those w hich the com pany poorly managed.
