Wykorzystanie metody optoelektronicznej z izokinetyczną aspiracją próbki
w monitoringu pyłu drobnego w powietrzu.
Streszczenie
W pracy podjęto badania nad możliwością zastosowania analizatora
optoelektronicz-nego IPS-P (Infrared Particle Sizer typ P) firmy Kamika Instruments do pomiarów ciągłych
składu frakcyjnego oraz stężenia pyłu w powietrzu w czasie rzeczywistym. Wykorzystywana
powietrza na danym obszarze w dowolnym przedziale czasowym. Ponadto, analizator IPS-P
rejestruje panujące w czasie pomiaru czynniki meteorologiczne odniesione do prędkości
pomia-rach stężenia pyłu PM10 i PM2,5 prowadzonych manualną referencyjną grawimetryczną
At-moservice. Dodatkowo, otrzymane wyniki pomiarów stężenia pyłu PM10 i PM2,5 w
powie-trzu z wykorzystaniem analizatora IPS-P odniesiono do wyników pomiarów uzyskanych na
stacjach monitoringu jakości powietrza w Krakowie. Badania ekwiwalentności otrzymanych
porównywanymi metodami poziomów stężeń pyłu w powietrzu przeprowadzono dla
obszer-nego zbioru danych pochodzących z wieloletnich pomiarów zapylenia powietrza, co
zapewni-ło wiarygodność uzyskanych wyników badań.
Stwierdzono, iż wyniki pomiarów stężenia pyłu PM2,5 i PM10 otrzymane z
zastosowanie analizatora IPS-P w pomiarach monitoringowych pyłu drobnego w powietrzu
w czasie rzeczywistym wymaga przeprowadzenia dalszych modernizacji rozwijających
sto-sowaną w analizatorze metodę detekcji cząstek oraz doskonalących i precyzujących
zdefi-niowane algorytmy obliczeniowe.

Using optoelectronic method with isokinetic air stream aspiration for fine dust monitoring in ambient air.
Abstract
This PhD thesis analyses the opportunities of using the optoelectronic analyzer IPS-P (Infrared Particle Sizer type P) from Kamika Instruments for particulates number and mass on-line concentration measurements in the ambient air. The innovative detection method used in the IPS-P analyzer is based on measuring the quantity and size of the particles in the parallel beam of infrared light to provide the isokinetic sampling of the analyzed air. The IPS-P analyzer enables to carry out simultaneous measurements of the concentration and fractional composition of the air particles in real time together including the measurement of the direction of flow. Such approach potentially offers the opportunity to identify the dominant sources of dust emissions that determine poor air quality in the area for any period of time. Furthermore, the IPS-P analyzer captures prevailing, at the time of measurement, meteorological factors related to the speed and the direction of wind, temperature and humidity.
The determination of the level of air pollution with fine dust is based on the PM2,5 and PM10 dust concentration measurements conducted by the manual reference gravimetric measurement method or by the method in accordance with the reference method provided that one can demonstrate the equivalence of the results obtained with the reference values.
The verification of the compatibility of the results obtained from the measurements using the IPS-P analyzer with the reference values, captured by the LVS3D reference gravimetric dust sampler from Atmoservice, was based primarily on the parallel measurements of the PM10 and PM2,5 dust concentration conducted on the measuring point located at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow. In addition, the results from the measurements of PM10 and PM2,5 dust concentration with the IPS-P analyzer were compared with the results obtained from the air quality monitoring stations located in Krakow. The study and analysis of the equivalence of the dust concentration results between the IPS-P analyzer and the LVS3D reference gravimetric dust sampler was conducted based on a comprehensive set of data derived from long-term dust concentration measurements which ensured the reliability of the obtained research results.
It was found that the PM2,5 and PM10 dust concentration results obtained from the measurements with the IPS-P analyzer, both in the case of applying and not applying the correction of the measurement results, significantly differ from the values obtained by the reference method. As a result, it was concluded that the measurements recorded with the IPS- P analyzer of the concentrations of both fractions of particulate matter in the air, cannot be considered as equivalent to the results obtained from the LVS3D sampler.
The statistical analyses showed that the application of the IPS-P analyzer in the real time monitoring measurements of the concentration of fine dust in the air requires further research into the methods used in the analyzer for the detection of particles and the development of the calculation algorithms.
