An evaluation of quality of carrot topping by the double-rowed topper made by the Weremczuk company was performed. During the testing the machine did not top 12.6 percent of roots whose heads were situated under the ridges surface. However, every carrot head was defoliated. The carrot topper caused the appearance of longitudinal cracks in the roots – in the amount of 2.8 percent. K e ywo r d s : carrot, root topping, root cracks, carrot harvesting.
