FROM THE EDITORS
IE JOURNAL IS STEADILY expanding. Alongside the regular publication of
our main periodical, we continue editing its Supplements. Since the appearance of the 2002 Supplement no. 1: Ευεργεσίας χάριν containing a collection of papers dedicated to Benedetto Bravo and Ewa Wipszycka, three other Supplements have been presented (the Reader will find their list and description on pp. 313-317). The year 2006, θεών θελάντων, shall bring four more publications in the series. We would like to announce Adam Lajtar's monumental edition of the Greek inscriptions from the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut in Deir el-Bahari, as well as Tomasz Derda's study on the administration of the Fayum in the Roman period. Ewa Wipszycka is presently finishing a book on monks and monastic commu-nities in Egypt (the Reader will find a preview of this work in this volume on pp. 265-309). A special place is due to the proceedings of the confer-ence held in spring 2005, devoted to the Auditoria of Kom el-Dikka, Alexandria, and educational and cultural life of late antique cities. The volume will contain the first extensive publication of the stunning results of the excavations conducted under direction of Grzegorz Majcherek in the very centre of late antique Alexandria. Hopefully the beginning of 2007 will bring forth a collection of papers by Józef Mélèze-Modrzejew-ski, devoted to law and justice in the Greek and Hellenistic world.
We would also like to call the Reader's attention to the announce-ment concerning the 7th International Prize 'Gérard Boulvert' to be awarded for debut monograph devoted to broadly understood Romanis-tic and ancient law research.

We would also like to repeat the call for papers to be published in the
Journal. The contributions should deal with papyrology epigraphy and
history of Ancient Egypt from the early Ptolemaic to Late Byzatine and Early Arab periods as well as juristic papyrology, epigraphy, and history of ancient laws. The papers should be submitted in electronic form accom-panied by a PDF file to one of the editors. Suggestions for new Supplements are also welcome.
