W pracy zweryfikowano zmodyfikowaną metodę iloczynu skalarnego służącą do określania kierunku i intensywności procesów związanych z filtracją występującą w zaporach ziemnych oraz ich podłożach.
Badania przeprowadzono dla trzech zapór: w Pieczyskach, Klimkówce oraz Tresnej. Praca zawiera oryginalne wyniki empiryczne uzyskane dla obszernych i wiarygodnych zbiorów danych, które zostały poprzedzone analizą pomiarów piezometrycznych w aspekcie wykrywania oraz eliminacji obserwacji odstających, wykorzystując w tym celu trzy testy statystyczne: dwa warianty testu Q-Dixona, test Grubbsa oraz test Hampela. Aby określić graniczną wartość miary podobieństwa, powyżej której można stwierdzić istnienie kontaktu hydraulicznego pomiędzy stanami wody w badanych piezometrach i stanami wody górnej (WG), w rozprawie zaproponowano autorską metodę bazującą na wykorzystaniu rozkładu empirycznego poziomów miar podobieństwa oraz obliczeniu kwantyla rzędu 95%.
Uzyskane wyniki zostały porównane z rezultatami innych metod określania kierunku filtracji – metodą testu znaku oraz metodą graficzną polegają na wykreśleniu hydroizohips. Zastosowana metoda iloczynu skalarnego stanowi pozbawione subiektywizmu podejście pozwalające na określenie kierunku oraz intensywności procesu filtracji. Prawidłowe rozpoznanie tego procesu pozwala na znaczne obniżenie kosztów remontu zapory (zastrzyków lub innych sposobów uszczelniania), jak również istotnie zwiększa bezpieczeństwo funkcjonowania istniejących zapór ziemnych.
In this doctoral dissertation a modified scalar-productbased approach was verified in the context of its application in determining the direction and intensity of earthen dams and their substrates. The empirical part of the study was conducted for the three earthen dams located in Pieczysko, Klimkówka and Tresna. The thesis presents original empirical results obtained for an extensive and reliable dataset. In the first stage of the research an analysis of piezometric measurements in terms of the detection and elimination of outliers based on an application of three statistical tests (two variants of Dixon's Q-test, Hampel test and Grubbs test) was conducted. To define the critical value of the measure of similarity above which one can determine the existence of a hydraulic contact between the water levels in the analyzed piezometers and water levels of the upper water (UW) a new method based on the application of 95% sample quantile calculated for the empirical distribution of water levels was proposed. The results were compared with the outcomes of other methods of determining the direction of filtration – the sign test and the graphical method using the plots of hydroizohipses. The proposed scalar-product-based approach is a subjectivity-free method of determining the direction and intensity of the filtration process. A correct diagnostics of this type of processes allows a significant reduction of costs of repair of a dam (based on injections or other sealing methods) as well as a significant increase of the safety of the operation of the existing earth dams.
