The priority of dissertation was to improve knowledge of hydrogen sulfide hydrates production in the presence of methane for hydrogen sulfide concentration range of the most common in the real natural gases, and to determine the parameters of the process in order to intensify. At the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow was designed and built from scratch a unique construction of PVT apparatus and collected instrumentation required for the research project commissioned by PGNiG SA in Warsaw. The calculation methodology of hydration heat and the hydration number were developed for the mixture of methane with hydrogen sulfide, based on the workflow for pure methane reported in the literature, based on the Clapeyron equation.
Calculated process heats for all investigated hydration stages. The interpretation of the results were compared with the results based on the gas chromatographic measurement after gas hydrates dissociation and experimental results for pure methane. Analysis also extended the impact of structural porosity, defined in this PhD thesis, to fill the large cages of hydrates structure. Calculation of the separation selectivity of hydrogen sulfide from a mixture with methane was carried out, which can determine the effectiveness of this method for the separation of gaseous substances having different hydrativity.
A series of measurements and observations relating to the process preceding hydrate formation carried out, ie. nucleation and insightful analysis of the process of building and hydrate agglomeration starting from the moment of agglomeration until the moment hydrate dissociation.
