the PAU Commission on the History of Science)In memoriam.

3. Peer review procedure

Bearing in mind the different types of texts published in our journal, the peer review procedure has been modified. Obviously, every text pub-lished in the journal is still carefully reviewed. However, depending on the type of the text, a different procedure is applied.

If the text is: 1) an editorial commentary, 2) an interview or a recol-lection, 3) a discussion or a publication review, 4) a reprint, 5) a polemic, 6) a piece of news or a conference report, or 7) a report on the activi-ty of the PAU Commission on the History of Science, it is reviewed by the Editorial Board of the journal (this is the so-called internal review). By contrast, all other types of text (including the so-called research arti-cles and research communications) will be assessed additionally by 2–4 independent external Reviewers. Their respective identities will remain concealed (i.e. double-blind review), and in order to avoid the conflict of interest between the Author and the Reviewer, the Reviewer, cannot be a person who remains with the Author in a professional relationship, or direct personal relationship (kinship, legal relationship, conflict) or who was a direct collaborator of the Author within two years prior to the preparation of the review.

4. Foreign authors

The ratio of foreign authors in the journal has been increasing system-atically. In the previous volume it was 31% of all authors, and in the current volume – 50% of all authors.

5. Foreign reviewers

The ratio of foreign reviewers in the journal been increasing system-atically. In the previous volume it was 15% of all reviewers, and in the current volume – 48% of all reviewers.

6. Bibliographic style

Due to the fact that the programs used for automatic recognition of the bibliometric records adopted in our journal did not manage to do it well (for example, the Academia portal), we were forced to change this style to a certain extent.

The changes, among others, are as follows:

• each bibliographic item listed in the bibliography must start with the name of the author (i.e. person, institution, ...) [unfortunately, this means repeating the same name in case of citing several works of the same author]; the last name and the first name of the author are separated by a comma; co-authors are separated by semicolon (e.g.: Kowalski, Jan; Nowak, Adam);

• each bibliographic record (it applies to the submitted text) is aligned left;

• in the bibliographic record (it applies to the submitted text), no paragraph division nor any word division is allowed.
