H o w e v e r it never b e a r s t h e n a m e Alexandria Aegypti b u t is called Alexandria ad Aegyptum; b) I t is impossible t o consider A l e x a n d r i a as a sovereign s t a t e a n d E g y p t e as a d o m i n i o n or co-lony of it.
