P . W i n n i n g t o n - I n g r a m , who gives t h e a c c o u n t of t h e music. F r o m t h e t e x t of t h e early second c e n t u r y only t h e second c o l u m n is b e t t e r p r e s e r v e d . I t c o n t a i n s a m o n o d y addressed t o a chorus which is b i d d e n t o d a n c e . T h e editor supposes t h a t we h a v e here a pre-Hellenistic lyric, p r o b a b l y a lyric f r o m a s a t y r - p l a y . I t seems t h a t t h e t e x t is classic b u t t h e music t h a t of a l a t e r epoch, a n d so t h e p a p y r u s is p e r h a p s p a r t of a book of e x t r a c t s for singing (like t h e Oslo P a p y r u s published Symbolae Osloenses X X X I , 1—87).
T h e last t e x t in this v o l u m e , No. 2437, is a small f r a g m e n t of Callimachus, Hecale, s u p p l e m e n t i n g P . O x y 2217 a n d 2398.
Those t w o n e w v o l u m e s are a w o r t h y c o n t i n u a t i o n of t h e long series of t h e O x y r h y n c h u s P a p y r i .
