Application of OMAX method to power plant diagnostics
The aim of the Ph. D. thesis was formulation, testing and implementation of selected model identification techniques and tests its application for fault detection in power plant rotating machines. The objective of the thesis has been realized by formulation of diagnostics algorithms based on modal analysis techniques and nonlinear parametric models of vibration signals. The proposed algorithms were experimentally verified during the tests on laboratory test stand and on data collected in wind power plant. The main original contributions in this work can be summarize as follows:
a) the formulation of diagnostics methods and algorithms for rotating machinery based on modal analysis techniques and nonlinear parametric models of vibration signals,
b) implementation of the OMAX method for nonlinear cases,
c) the use of active magnetic bearing as measurable external excitation in the OMAX method during the normal operation of investigated machine, d) the use of active magnetic bearing in blade cracks detection,
e) experimental verification of proposed diagnostic methods on laboratory test stand,
f) the use of proposed algorithms for real data collected at wind turbine,
g) the analysis of possible usage of proposed by author diagnostic algorithms for power plants components.
