A candidate applying for a nostrification of a diploma needs to provide the following documents to the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Management.
1. a letter of application requesting recognition of a second-cycle academic degree received abroad, for the purpose of applying for doctoral studies at the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw, addressed to the Faculty Board of the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw;
2. an original copy of a diploma to be nostrified, legalized by a consul of the Republic of Poland who is at the office in the country in which the subjected document has been issued1;
3. documents confirming the course and duration of higher education, such as a transcript of records, a diploma supplement, etc.;
4. a copy of a school certificate / a school leaving certificate / a diploma, on the basis of which the applicant was accepted into the institution that issued the diploma to be nostrified;
5. a CV;
6. a signed declaration that the diploma obtained abroad has not undergone any recognition (nostrification) proceedings at another university in Poland;
7. a signed declaration that the applicant will cover the costs of nostrification once a decision is issued.
8. The above documents should be accompanied by their Polish translations:
• performed by a sworn translator entered on the list of sworn translators kept by the Minister of Justice, or
• performed or certified by a consul of the Republic of Poland being at the office in country in which education system the document has been issued
Before passing a resolution regarding the recognition of a diploma obtained abroad, the faculty board may also pass a resolution on the necessity of completing certain courses or passing specific examinations by the candidate.
1 If the institution which issued the certificate abroad acts in education system of a country which differs from the country on which territory the education was conducted, the original or duplicate of the certificate can be legalized by:
1. consul of the Republic of Poland being at the office in this country in which the school operates or 2. consul of the Republic of Poland being at the office in country in which education system the school
operates or
3. accredited on the territory of the Republic of Poland, a diplomatic mission or consular office of the country in which education the school operates, or accredited on the territory of the Republic of Poland diplomatic mission or consular office of the country in which education was conducted.
