Abstract

A method of calculation of polarization state of resultant light wave, which is a superposition of fully polarized waves, is presented. A solution which uses Jones formalism and complex-number plane description was illustrated graphically on complex-complex-number plane. A simple algorithm was shown, making possible to find in graphical way the points, which represents a polarization state of coherence superposition of two polarized waves with arbitrary amplitudes and phase difference between them. This algorithm can be easily modified for superposition of more than two waves.
