Z KRONIKI BIBLIOTEKI Srrawa lokalu
Wobec skreślenia z planu inwestycyjnego budowy gmachu Biblio
teki UMCS, Biblioteka rozpoozęła starania u władz wojewódzkioh oraz poprzez prasę o uzyskanie innyoh kredytów na budowę. Zro
dziła się wówozas myśl wybudowania wspólnego gmaohu bibliotecz
nego dla 4—oh wyższyoh szkół lubelskich. Jak wspominaliśmy w Nr 1 naszego Biuletynu (1958 r.) w lutym 1958 r. została zwoła
na przez Dyrektora naszej Biblioteki T.Smołkę konferencja, w której wzięli udział przedstawiciele 4-oh uczelni: Akademii Me- dyoznej, UMCS, Wyższej Szkoły Rolniozej, Wyższej Szkoły Inżynie
ryjnej, przedstawlolel Zarządu Inwestycji UMCS i Oddziału Plano
wania Wojewódzkiej Rady Narodowej oraz projektant gmaohu inż.
Witkowski. Na konferenojl tej wszysoy zainteresowani zaaprobo
wali projekt budowy wspólnego gmaohu bibliotecznego} postano
wiono rozpooząó starania o kredyty. Dzięki zainteresowaniu spra-

wą posłów Ziemi Lubelskiej oraz radnyoh m.Lublina udało się zwlą- zaó sprawę budowy biblioteki międzyuczelnianej z uroczystościa
mi z okazji 15-lecia PKWN.
W grudniu (4.XII).1958 r. ukazała się uohwała Rady Ministrów w związku z uozozeniem 15-letniej rooznicy PKWN, w której mię
dzy innymi Inwestycjami w Lublinie przewidziana jest budowa bi
blioteki międzyuczelnianej w latach 1960-1963 kosztem 18.000.000 zł. Budowa gmachu dla Biblioteki zaczyna zatem ze stanu obletnlo przeohodzló na realne tory.
Założenia projektowe, które przewidywały budowę gmachu tylko dla Biblioteki UMCS, zostały zmienione i przesłane do Minister
stwa. W ciągu roku 1959 projektuje się wykonanie dokfcmentaoji teohnicznej. Prace te prowadzi inż.'T.Witkowski, który już od dłuższego czasu zajmuje się zagadnieniem budownictwa bibliotecz
nego.
Do obwili wybudowania nowego gmachu sytuacja lokalowa Biblio
teki nie poprawi się a jest już tragiozna* Pojemność magazynów końozy się nie ma zaś perspektyw uzyskania dodatkowego pomie
szczenia tyraozasowego.
Odznaczenia pracowników
W październiku 1958 r. mgr Maria Jasienowicz wioedyrektor naszej Biblioteki została nagrodzona Złotym Krzyżem Zasługi*
Jest to już 4-e wyróżnienie pracowników naszej Biblioteki*
W roku 1956 Krzyż Kawalerski Orderu Odrodzenia Polski otrzy
mał Dyrektor naszej Biblioteki mgr Tadeusz Smółka a Złote Krzy
że Zasługi otrzymali w tymże roku: Kustosz dr Stefan Wojcieohow- skl oraz długoletnia praoownlczka naszej Biblioteki kol.Łuoja Karsznlcka*

W grudniu 1958 r. Dyrektor Biblioteki Tadeusz Smółka został wy
słany przez Ministerstwo Szkolniotwa Wyższego na miesiąc do NRD oelem zapoznania się z tamtejszymi bibliotekami* Zwiedził Berlin, Drezno, Lipsk, Halle, Weimar, Gotha, Jenę nawiązująo kontakty z tamtejszymi bibliotekami*
Poza tym w okresie wakaoyjnym wzięła udział w wyoieozoe ZHP do Czechosłowaojl mgr Mleozysława Wełnianka. Zwiedziła Pragę ' 1 Brno*
Prywatnie wyjeżdżały do Anglii kol.kol*Józefa i Oktawla Ple- truskle•
Z gośol zagranicznych'bawiła w naszej Bibliotece Rlna Zolło
na zasłużona recytatorka ZSRR*

Sohemat organizacyjny nie uległ zmianie, zmienił się nato
miast w dużym prooencle skład personalny* Przybył) do Bibliote

Co nlesląo odbywały się, jak w poprzednioh lataoh, zebrania kierowników Oddziałów, odbyło się nadto w listopadzie zebranie wszystkich pracowników, na którym mgr Stefan Paweleo referował zagadnienie szkolenia bibliotekarzy*
W grudniu kustosz naszej Biblioteki dr Stefan Wojoleohowskl wygłosił odczyt pt« "Książka poprzez wieki".
