The 9th International Legal History Conference titled “History of Labour Law and Social Policy” was held at the Collegium Maius, of Jagiellonian University in Kraków on January 24th and 25th, 2015. The conference was organised by the Students’ Society for History of the State and Law in colla boration with the Chair of History of Polish Law and the Chair of General History of the State and Law. English was a leading language during the event. Over 20 speakers took part, most of whom were the representatives of:
the University of Szeged (Hungary), Comenius University in Bratislava (Slovakia), the University of Belgrade (Serbia), Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań (Poland), the University of Łódź (Poland), and Jagiellonian University in Kraków (Poland). The meeting was dedicated to young legal historians (students or Ph.D. students). The initial lecture was given by Professor Kazimierz Baran of Jagiellonian University. Also present at the conference were: Professor Mária Homoki-Nagy, Dr. Norbert Varga (The Hungarian Legal History Department, University of Szeged), Dr. Andreja Katancević (The Chair of History of Law, University of Belgrade), Dr. Jan Halbreda (Chair of History of the State and Law, Jagiellonian University in Kraków), Dr. Władysław Pęksa, and Dr. Maciej Mikuła (Chair of History of Polish Law, Jagiellonian University in Kraków). Numerous members of the Students’ Society for History of the State and Law also attended.
