My family and I live in London. As you all know, it is the capital of England. In London there are many interesting monuments and tourist attractions, such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye.

We often visit these places with the Thompsons. They live next door. They are very friendly. When they go on holiday, we often feed their cats or take care of their house.

Mrs Thompson sometimes comes to borrow some sugar and Mr Thompson is always angry about it.

Downstairs we have got a nice, bright kitchen, a living room and a bathroom. We sleep upstairs and I have got my study there, too.

LADY CANARY

Mrs Gordon is 80 years old and she is the happy mother of three sons and the grandmother of seven grandsons. Her husband died ten years ago and she moved out of their big country house to a small flat in the city centre.

She doesn’t like travelling by bus because people always want her to sit down. She is not that old! Trains are expensive so when she wants to visit her family she chooses cycling. It’s the fastest and the cheapest way to get there.

Mrs Gordon hates doing crosswords. She thinks it’s boring. Watching TV is not her favourite way of spending free time, either. But she is crazy about computer games and she spends a lot of time in front of the screen.

Mrs Gordon’s neighbours know about that hobby. They think she is a bit strange but they like her very much because she always smiles at them. They call her Lady Canary because of the red trainers and yellow dress she often wears.
