Von der geforderten Konstanz des Verhältnisses — , dessen Größe in den k
M onaten Juli 1922 bis Februar 1923 zwischen 3,8 und 1,4 lag, somit wenigstens in ganz roher A nnäherung konstant war, kann also im zweiten H albjahr 1923 nicht m ehr gesprochen w erden. D er G rund liegt darin, daß

unsere Inflation nicht geregelt nach der Form el m ' = m e m erfolgte, wodurch jede Ungerechtigkeit für die Em pfänger der p vermieden und die Kaufeinheit von vornherein in gleitender W eise fixiert wäre, sondern daß eine vollkommene Planlosigkeit, wohl bedingt durch die Frem dheit der maßgebenden Stellen gegenüber dem W esen der gleitenden W ährung Platz griff, welche zur Folge hatte, daß die Zahl teilweise weit unter dem erforderlichen W ert lag, und zum Schluß der Inflationsperiode über jedes verstandesmäßige Maß hinaus vergrößert wurde.
