Ti - 0.15 % wag. C (AlTi3C0.15 - TiCAl).
Dodatek 100 ppm Ti umożliwia uzyskanie kompleksu optymalnych, spośród badanych, właściwości stopu AlZn20, tj., w stosunku do stopu wyjściowego, wzrost wydłużenia ookoło 20%, wytrzymałości na rozciąganie o około 10% oraz zachowaną wysoką zdolność do tłumienia, równą około 200 dB/m, lokującą stop AlZn20 w tzw. grupie HIDALLOYS - High Damping Alloys, tj. stopów oznaczonych w inżynierii materiałowej mianem Advanced Materials, przeznaczonych do zastosowań w obszarze High Technology
THE INFLUENCE OF GRAIN REFINEMENT THE INFLUENCE OF GRAIN REFINEMENT ON DAMPING PROPERTIES OF SELECTED
ALLUMINIUM ZINC CAST ALLOYS Summary
The study presents grain refinement of double high-zinc Al alloys using master alloys containing titanium and it comprises the study of the influence of grain refinement on the degree of structural fineness, changes made to the attenuation coefficient and changes to strength properties, which accompany the refinement of structure.
The main aim of this study consisted in determining the influence that a changeable addition to grain refinement alloy had on the above-mentioned properties and, further, establishing an optimal addition which would improve sand cast alloys elongation together with keeping initial, high damping and strength properties intact. After reviewing literature on the subject and carrying out preliminary research, Al-20wt% Zn (AlZn20) and master alloy Al-3wt% Ti - 0.15 wt%. C (AlTi3C0.15 - TiCAl) were chosen to study.
Thanks to the addition of 100 ppm Ti it is possible to obtain a set of optimal properties investigated in AlZn20 alloy. They include, when compared to the initial alloy, a 20% elongation growth, a 10% increase in tensile strength and high damping capacity amounting to about 200 dB/m, thus classifying the AlZn20 alloy in the so-called HIDALLOYS - High Damping Alloys group. In materials engineering these alloys are referred to as Advanced Materials which are earmarked for use in High Technology
