Zastosowanie map STEM-EDX rozmieszczenia pierwiastków Al i Nb umożliwia identyfikację i pomiar wielkości nanocząstek faz γ' i γ ".
The influence of the precipitates on strengthening of Inconel 718 superalloy at high
temperature
Ph.D. thesis describes the study of precipitations and their effect on the enhancement of the Inconel 718 superalloy to select the optimum heat treatment conditions out of the eight samples provided by Pratt & Whitney, CT, USA. Inconel 718 (IN718), a nickel and iron superalloy, introduced into the manufacture of the end of the fifties of the twentieth century. Microstructures of the superalloy were performed by microscopy and electron tomography, using the development of quantitative electron microscopy. The results of the studies show that the γ' phase contains mainly Ni, Al and Ti, while the γ phase contains Ni, Nb and Ti. The use of the STEM-EDX maps of the A1 and Nb elements enables the identification and measurement of the size of the nano-phases of the γ' and γ" phases.
