Title:
Frequency Response Function for Time-Variant Mechanical Systems
Abstract:
The main focus of the thesis is on development of a new non-parametric method for the dynamic identification of the time-variant mechanical systems. In case of the classical non-parametric methods, estimation of the modal model parameters is based on the Frequency Response Function (FRF). It is obvious that a new function needs to be formulated for analysis of the time-variant mechanical systems. In scope of this dissertation, the Time-Variant Frequency Response Function (TV-FRF) based on the Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) is proposed as a basis for the further identification.
Identification of the modal model parameter starts with the ridge extraction procedures. Due to the numerical problems regarding calculation of the TV-FRF, which involves division of one time-frequency plane by another, the resulting TV-FRF is corrupted by the high level of noise. In order to overcome this problem the Crazy Climbers algorithm, which is based on the Markov-Chain Monte Carlo simulation, has been applied for the ridge extraction in presence of the noise.
Finally, the proposed methods and algorithms were tested on the numerical simulations and the experimental tests, to check their performance and applicability to the real objects, where the real measurements noise and the other disturbances are present.
