„The synthesis of oxide nanostructures on the surface of chosen transition metals"
The doctoral thesis discuss issues of the oxide nanotubes synthesis obtained by electrochemical oxidation in electrolytes containing fluoride ions. The synthesis was carried out on zirconium and niobium due to wide range of applications of ZrO2and Nb2O5 nanotubes. This kind of nanotubes were especially used in solar cells, photo- catalysis and orthopedic implants coatings.
The purpose of the thesis is optimization of synthesis parameters and determinantion and determination of their influence on obtained oxide nanostructure. Optimized synthesis parameters are: composition of the electrolyte, anodization voltage, amount of organic addition and the synthesis time. The aim of this optimization is to take control over the morphology of the obtained oxide. In this work successful synthesis of nanotubes ZrO2 on zirconium was performed. On niobium only the porous structure of the oxide was achieved.
To verify the possibility of using obtained oxide ZrO2 nanotubes as a material for coatings on biomedical implants corrosion tests were carried out. Tests were carried out in SBF (Simulated Body Fluid) solution at 36.6°C.
