ALL THE
WOOD-ENGRAVINGS AND DECORATIVE ORNAMENTS WERE ORIGINALLY USED BY THE GREAT
MASTER PRINTERS IN KRAKOW IN THE SIXTEENTH CENTURY AND ARE NOW IN MY PRIVATE
collection. One hundred and twenty-two copies of thefe Chriflmas and New Year Greeting Cards have been let by hand, the firfl page in Caxton* Old Black, the other three in the flowing grace of Callonf Old Face Founts. Ș This lupreme and agelefs maflerpiece of Englifh type, cut by the great artifl and defigner who embodied the beauty and the perfection of typography in his creative craftfmanfhip, has been efleemed by printing experts down the years. Ș This edition, the twenty-fifth in fequence fince I flarted printing, (interrupted by my war fervice in Her Majefly’s Forces) doles thirty years of my aftivity in typography. 5 The pre
fent ¡flue, as thole in the pafl, is printed on an ancient Hand Preis and on hand-made rag paper damped, as in mediaeval days, when love for his work was a craftfman’s joy and pride.
