The Mission The Instrument

The Solar Orbiter mission will bring a suite of 10 instruments out of the ecliptic (>30deg) and

close to the Sun (<0.3 AU)

Solar Orbiter will be

launched on Feb 6 2020.

First light of EUI will be at the end of April. Full

science operations start Nov 2021

Imaging 30 deg out of the ecliptic, shows a

full polar hole

The Full Sun imager

Lyman-α High Resolution Imager

EUV High Resolution Imager

And the Common Electronics Box
