Authors’ biographical notes (in alphabetical order)

marcin Cichoński, mA

Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, a graduate student in the Department of Criminal Procedural Law, University of Silesia, a graduate of general application in KSSiP (National School of Judiciary and Public Prosecution), a trainee judge in KSSiP. His particular interests are in criminal procedural law and substantive law.

Andrzej Czop, mA

Law graduate of the Jagiellonian University, City Chief of Police in Cra-cow, then head of the department of prevention and social pathology of the Police Headquarters in Warsaw, author and coordinator of many projects in the field of crime prevention, as well as publications on pathology and juve-nile delinquency. Vice-President of the Polish Association of Protection Em-ployers of Małopolska Branch, a member of the Association of Chief Police Officers and the Association for European Security. Modern Bushido Depart-ment employee in the DepartDepart-ment of Philosophy and Theory of the School of Public and Individual Safety “Apeiron” in Cracow. Currently serves as the Director General in Cracow Safety Center.

Jarosław Cymerski, Phd.

PhD in political science at the Academy of Humanities in Pułtusk. Officer of the Government Protection Bureau is currently in the rank of major. Re-search interests focus on issues related to the elements of the security system operating in the area of preventing and combating terrorism.

malwina dankiewicz, mA

MA in psychology, Jagiellonian University, a PhD student in the Institute of Psychology, the Department of Behavioural Sciences of the Jagiellonian University, where she teaches students. Regular member of the Polish Psy-chological Association and a member of the Board of the Cracow Branch of PTP, in office 2012–2015, regular member of the Youth Psychologists at the Cracow Branch of PTP, and member of the Board of KMP in the term 2012– 2015. Research interests: psychology of aggression, personality psychology, and psychology of memory and learning. Publications and conferences of national and international research on the psychology of aggression.

Izabela dzierwa-Pabin, Phd.

Graduate of law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiel-lonian University. Ph.D. She received the doctorate in law at the JagielJagiel-lonian University in the field of civil procedure. The author is a lawyer registered on the list of the Chamber of Advocates of Cracow, actively carrying out her pro-fession. Lecturer in WSBPI Apeiron in Krakow. She has authored nume-rous legal articles including: Process succession of a purchaser of goods or rights in dispute – Article 192 paragraph 3 of the Code, Evidence from the hearing of parties in the Polish civil proceedings, The signs correction of the parties signs, Divorce, and co-author of Roman Law – repertory.

Ing. Janusz falecki, Phd.

Graduate of the School of Missile Forces and Artillery in Toruń and the Ar-tillery Academy in Leningrad. He also studied defense policy, at the NATO Defense College in Rome. PhD graduate of the National Defence University in Warsaw. He was the Head of Emergency Operations Branch in the Army

tion Headquarters in Mons – Belgium and the commander of the Training Center for Foreign Missions in Kielce. He is the author of numerous publi-cations in the field of defense, crisis management and the preparation of the Polish Armed Forces soldiers to participate in election observation missions, peacekeeping and stabilization missions.

Jacek gałuszka, mA

Law graduate from the University of Wrocław, he served as Deputy Chief of the Public Order Department of the Police Headquarters in Warsaw, De- puty Commander of the Municipal Police in Wrocław, and is currently the District Commander of Police in Oława. He participated in the creation of the National Police Information System. He was a representative of the Chief of Police in the parliamentary committee, which worked on the Act on mass events security. He teaches at the High Police School in Szczytno directing student learning activities in action, police operations and staff work.

Ing. Barbara Kaczmarczyk, Phd.

Graduate of the University of Technology (BSc) in Wrocław, the Na-tional Defence Academy in Warsaw (MA and PhD studies) and the Uni-versity of Warsaw, Warsaw (postgraduate studies). The author and editor of scientific publications published in Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine in the field of security, governance, management crisis (communication, cooperation, exercise), and safety education. She teaches at universities in the field of crisis management, communications security, security education. Member of the Polish Association of Political Science, European Association for Security and the council of a quarterly - Silesian Police. Constable of the Border Guard from 2002 to 2012. Currently, an expert in the Regional Police Headquarters in Wrocław.

Juliusz Piwowarski, Phd.

Rector of the Higher School of Public and Individual Safety “Apeiron” in Cracow, a specialist in religious studies, safety philosophy, a member of the International Martial Arts and Combat Sports Scientific Society (IMACSSS), since 1971 uninterrupted practices martial arts: a 8th dan karate, kickboxing 8th dan, 5 dan ju-jitsu.

Ing. Jarosław Prońko, Phd.

Deputy Director of the Institute of Management at the University of Jan Kochanowski in Kielce. A graduate of Kielce University of Technology and the National Defense University. Former Military Officer of the Vistula River Units. Active in flood in 1997 – awarded the Cross of Merit for Bravery. In

the years 1998–2001 Chief Specialist in the Office of the Defense Ministry of Interior Affairs. Author and co-author of many works in the field of public safety, crisis management and decision-making issues.

Ing. petr Selinger, phD.

Department of Security Management, Faculty of Special Engineering, University of Zilina, E-mail: petr.selinger@fsi.uniza.sk

He is teaching such subjects as: Security Services and its legislation, Pri-vate Security Services, Doctrine of Guns and Ammunition, Personal Protec-tion (Bodyguarding), Ethics of Security Services. He is a graduate of Military Academy and the University in Žilina. He finished PhD studies at the Police Academy in Bratislava. He was working on different functions in Czecho-slovak army, especially in building department and military constructions. He was working in Slovak Post and Slovak telecommunications. There he was dealing with security and protection of devices. He is a technical coun-cil member of Crisis Management Magazine. He is an author or co-author

cooperating with Technical University of Ostrava and with Police Academy in Bratislava.

Justyna węgrzynowicz-Cichońska, mA

Graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Jagiellonian University, a PhD student in the Department of Economic and Commercial Law, University of Silesia, trainee lawyer at the District Bar Council in Cra-cow. She specializes in business law and commercial and criminal law.

Aleksandra Zubrzycka, mA

MA in Physiotherapy, University of Physical Education in Warsaw, cur-rently a third level student. Graduate of numerous specialized courses in the field of manual therapy according to the concept of Kaltenborn and Evjentha. Active in the wider physiotherapy and physical activity, swimming instructor, bodybuilding, diver, lifeguard. Her scientific and professional activities are related to students who work and study, professionally – with water rescue and swimming teaching of children and adults.
