Parish Mission Statement

Our Lady of Czestochowa Church is a Catholic multicultural, multiethnic parish dedicated to Our Lady

of Czestochowa and La Vang. We are a living and loving community of believers seeking a deep and abid- ing faith in Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. We depend on His love to guide and nourish us in our quest for holiness. Gathered around the Word of God and His holy sacraments, we are called to be witnesses of Him by our service to our people, our families, our neighborhoods and our world. We strive to provide a warm welcoming home for all the People of God.

Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord

Effective this upcoming Easter season, the Solemnity of the Ascension of the Lord will be permanently trans- ferred from Thursday of the Sixth Week of Easter to the following Sunday, the Seventh Sunday of Easter, in all Catholic dioceses in New Jersey. This year, the Solemni- ty of the Ascension of the Lord will be observed on Sunday, May 29, 2022. This liturgical observance is an integral dimension of the completion of Our Lord's pas- chal mystery and, after much discussion, the Catholic Bishops of New Jersey collectively discerned that the transferring the observance to the following Sunday would allow for greater participation among the faithful.

Quo Vadis Days²July 1922, 2022

Young men ages 1417 are invited to spend a few days living, praying and interacting with priests, seminarians and faithfilled teens their own age. The days will in- clude dynamic talks, a visit from Bishop Checchio, sports and activities, prayer, small group discussion and so much more. For more information, please email quovdis@diometuchen.org.

Synod on Synodality ± Have you been heard?

Two additional Synod Listening Sessions will be held in May for those who have not yet had the opportunity to make their voices heard. A virtual session will be offered on Zoom from 7 p.m. ±9 p.m. on May 25 and an inperson session will be offered the following day, May 26, at the St.

John Neumann Pastoral Center in Piscataway from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. All are invited to participate, though registra- tion is required: diometuchen.org/synod2023
