Fast Ferry Operators Directory 1998-1999

In this Fast Ferry Operators Directory, the fourteenth and last to be published in this form,

we list details of those companies that were operating fast fences at the end of August

1999 or were awaiting delivery of vessels. As always, we have erred on the side of caution

and have not included those coinpanies whose operational status we could not confirm.

There are undoubtedly cunent operators who are not listed, particularly in Asia.

As in previous issues, a fast ferry is arbitrarily defined as a vessel able to carry a

minimum of 50 passengers, or comparable mix of passengers and cargo, at a f u l l load

service speed of at least 25 knots. The operators are listed alphabetically with details of

fleets in date acquisition order. Where there are two dates, the first is the yeai' in which the

vessel was launched and the second is the year in which it was introduced by the current

operator.
