WRITING AN ESSAY IS A LOT LIKE WRITING A PARAGRAPH
Writing an essay is like writing a paragraph, only longer because it is built of three main parts: introduction, body and conclusion.
You begin your essay with a general statement, instead of one topic sentence. It is more developed because you narrow down your thought and statement. This part s called introduction as it slowly introduces a reader to a thesis statement which gives a clear view what this essay will be about.
Then is another part of the essay, called body, which replaced a few supporting sentences from a paragraph. Instead of them you write a few topic sentences with supporting sentences. If you feel like ending every single paragraph with a concluding sentence, you can do this.
Finally, at the end of the essay you do not only write a concluding sentence but a whole part – conclusion – where you place your summary. Your final comment which could be called “food for thought”, is very important. It will improve the ending of your essay, if you give your reader something to think about after reading. Therefore, you should not explain everything in conclusion. Make the message hidden in your summary effective and impressive enough, so that the reader could bear it in mind.
