Praca doktorska dotyczy właściwości elektrycznych i termoelektrycznych kompozytów cementowych z dodatkiem grafitu ekspandowanego. W drugim etapie przeprowadzono badania właściwości funkcjonalnych kompozytów z grafitem ekspandowanym: zmiany rezystywności w funkcji temperatury i odkształcenia, zmiany napięcia termoelektrycznego w funkcji gradientu temperatury, efekt Joule'a.
Electric and thermoelectric properties of multifunctional cement composites with expanded graphite
The electric and thermoelectric properties of cement composites with addition of expanded graphite were investigated. Expanded graphite was obtained from intercalated graphite by rapid heating. Subsequently the effect of thermal treatment on thermoelectric properties of graphite was measured. The cement - graphite composites were prepared in three different ways: by mixing together expanded graphite and cement and by rubbing together expanded graphite and by breaking expanded graphite by using ultrasonic waves last two methods in order to obtain
smaller particles of graphite. In first step the thermoelectric and electric properties as well as the water absorption, mechanical strength, bulk density, thermal conductivity cement composites with expanded graphite were measured. In second step, the functional properties of composites with expanded graphite were examined: change in resistivity as a function of temperature and strain, variation in the thermoelectric voltage as a function of temperature gradient or Joule'a effect. In last step, the cement composites with expanded graphie were used in the practical application. The results of investigations show that the expanded graphite is a good conductive additive. The electric properties of composites are strongly influenced by the conditions of thermal expansion of graphite as well as by the technique of
