The method of paper chromatography enables observations of disturbances in amino acids metabolism in various stages of disease and also in various diseases.
In literature - known to us - there are no reports about metabolism of amino acids in cases of trichinellosis. In connection to this fact, there were done primary investigations, according to the presence of free amino acids in 20 patients serum.
The trials were done twice: first - during the third week, second - in the 6th week of the disease.
Our experiments were made by the method of circular - paper chromatography
under consideration of modifications introduced by Giri and Rao (Nature 169,

Special com position of solvents consisted: II - series butanol, acetic acid, distillated water in proportions 4: l: 1. The time of de- composition - 3,5 hours. Chromatogram was developed in l
O /0ethane solution of ninhidrine in temperature of 50°C during 20 minutes by the method recommen- det by Hais and Macek (Papirova Chromatografie, Praha 1954).
Identification was carried by comparison with model - stripes and by calcula- tions of decomposition coefficients RF for several amino acids separate. There were considerable differences in appearance of cystine and tryptophane statisti- cally noted during experiments. Insignificant differences were observed in izoleucine, histidine and aspartic acid , Agren and Nelson did not observe arginine amino acid in healtby people serum. In the blood serum of our patients this amino acid was absent. Considerable differences in the composition of cystine may be signifi- cant for disturbances of oxydoreduction progress in Trichinella spiralis. There were no differences in composition of free amino acids according to sex, neither during the 3rd and 6th week of diseanse.
