FURTHER INVESTIGATIONS ON THE INCIDENCE OF

TRICHINELLA SPIRALIS

IN ANIMALS IN POLAND

In leading of our investigations on the incidence of

Trichinel/a spiralis

in Po- land (Kozar, Warda,

1956, 1957;

Kozar,

1957, 1958),

we give in this place the las- results, reached in studying 202 animals from various provinces of Poland. In

cases we made use of compression method and of digestion method, in 34 cases we used only the compression method. The results obtained were:

In all cases except one (a dog) one confirmed a slight infection (a few Iarvae).

The infected dogs were from the provinces of

Białystok,

Bydgoszcz and

Łódź.

The infected foxes were found in the provinces of Lublin (5 from 8), Warsaw (10 from 25) and

Wrocław

(l from 2). The wolves were chased in the province of

Biały­

stok (3), and Rzeszów (2). The fact reported proves out, that

Trichinella spiralis

is appearing quite intensively in wild and domestic (esp. dogs) animals in the

various provinces of Poland.
